Eco Device for the Home Awarded for Contribution to Climate Change

VPhase plc has won a £30,000 financial award from the Shell Springboard programme for its eco device for the home, which cuts electricity bills by around 10%, lowers energy use and reduces carbon emissions using voltage optimisation technology. The programme promotes the growth of green businesses in the UK, recognising innovative products and services that could help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. 

 
VPhase competed against eight other businesses from across the UK on 1st February 2011 in Birmingham to be named the winner, and will now compete to be named as the overall UK winner in London on 22nd February.
 
The low-cost VPhase device uses voltage optimisation to reduce and stabilise the incoming voltage to homes, managing it to a stable level of around 220V in the UK. The result is electrical appliances use less electricity and cost less to run – all without requiring a change in lifestyle or supplier. The technology has been saving large companies millions each year, but this is the first time it has been available on a domestic scale.
