Case Study: Greenwatt Way Project

SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) has developed 10 eco-homes in Chalvey,
Slough in a unique project designed to understand the changing role of the energy supplier in a low carbon society.

The development, a mixture of two and three bedroom family homes and one bedroom flats, complies with 'Code 6' of the Code for Sustainable Homes - the highest possible standard.

VPhase has been a key contributor to the project, with its domestic Voltage Optimisation device being fitted alongside other green, energy efficient technology in each of the homes.

The SSE project uses the latest construction methods and energy technologies to deliver zero carbon housing. But building zero carbon homes is only the first step.

Results

SSE wanted to understand what zero carbon living will really be like, so the project will continue as tenants move in. Importantly, VPhase is a fit forget solution meaning that once fitted, the tenants don't have to do anything elese to benefit from the Voltage Optimisation savings.
